Central Anatolian Region

The Central Anatolia Region of Turkey is, as its name indicates, the central region of Turkey.  The Central Anatolia Region borders five other regions of Turkey – the Black Sea Region to the north, the Marmara Region to the north-west, the Aegean Region to the west, the Mediterranean Region to the south, and the Eastern Anatolia Region to the east.  This centralized location means that Anatolia is convenient for travel to anywhere in Turkey, giving it the best of all worlds.

The Central Anatolian Region has distinctly defined seasons, with a warm summer and cooler winter.  Summers in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey can be warmer even than the dryer Mediterranean summers found to the south.  The Central Anatolia Region also has a steppe climate, with wide differentials of temperature between day and night, something those looking to buy property in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey need to be aware of.  The Central Anatolia Region has average summer temperatures of 23C, dropping to an average of -2C in winter.  The area has little rainfall compared to other regions of Turkey.  The Central Anatolia Region does, however, have a higher average snowfall than many other locations in Turkey.

When travelling to the Central Anatolian Region of Turkey, it will probably be most convenient to take an international flight into Istanbul, then a further domestic flight to the location of your choice.  It is also possible to use Turkey’s excellent bus systems, especially if you wish to see a wider view of Turkey while travelling to your destination.  Turkey’s rail system is also an option for travelling to whichever property you wish to buy, view or visit in the Central Anatolian Region of Turkey.

Property near the capital of Ankara can be a little expensive compared to other areas of Turkey, with air-conditioned three bedroom apartments located close to the beach and the city being priced at over £60,000.  This price is still very low compared to the UK and other parts of Europe, and, when you factor in Turkey’s cost of living, you’ll see that the property in Central Anatolia might well be a bargain.  The cost of living in Turkey is anywhere between a fifth and a third less than in the UK, depending on the area where the Turkish property you wish to buy is located.
